About
Kenney Askew Memorial Park is one of the oldest parks in the Cherokee County system, recently expanded to include the Richard Mauldin Sports Complex with five new fields opened in fall 2015. The park features 6 pickleball courts and 2 tennis courts that can be reserved through the Cherokee Tennis Center at 770-592-4582. The facility also includes 6 baseball/softball diamonds, 1 athletic field available for rent, 2 playgrounds, 2 pavilions with concessions and restrooms, and a 1/3 mile walking path. September 2022 improvements were made through a grant from Pilgrim's Hometown Strong initiative. The park is also home to the Malon D. Mimms Boys & Girls Club.
