SCOTT PICKLEBALL CENTER IN ROCKWOOD PARK

About

In 2010, volunteers Dave and Linda Scott began a quest to bring pickleball to Chesterfield County. That same year, the Parks and Recreation Department began offering pickleball instruction and play. The Scotts coordinate the program which now boasts more than 500 participants playing seven days each week at eight Chesterfield locations. In 2014, Parks and Recreation converted three existing tennis courts at Rockwood Park into eight pickleball courts. Chesterfield County budgeted $30,000 for the project and received donations of $19,500. The courts are in constant use today.
