About
Not every pickleball experience in Northern Virginia is membership-based. Greenbriar Park in Fairfax demonstrates how public investment is expanding access to the sport at the neighborhood level. As of late October 2025, five new pickleball courts are officially open at Greenbriar Park. Players may notice temporary striping on the courts, with permanent lines scheduled to be painted once warmer weather arrives in the spring. This phased approach allows immediate use while ensuring long-term durability. Greenbriar Park stands out for its accessibility. The park offers parking, restrooms, and ADA accessibility, making it a welcoming option for players of all ages and abilities. These courts are expected to serve as a key entry point for beginners who want to try pickleball without committing to a private facility.
