About
The Hutchinson Sports Arena is a city-owned, multi-use indoor basketball facility featuring a 6,500-seat main arena and three community courts in the north auxiliary gyms. Originally built in the 1950s as home to Hutchinson Community College's Blue Dragons basketball teams, the facility underwent major renovation and expansion starting in 2013 to provide air-conditioned comfort year-round. Hutch Rec manages community recreation programs including youth and adult volleyball, basketball, pickleball, walking programs, and various sports tournaments. The facility hosts regional and national events including the NJCAA Men's Division I National Basketball Tournament and KSHSAA State tournaments. Portions of the Sports Arena can be rented through the HutchCC Athletics Department. The facility is fully accessible with ADA accommodations available.
