Nakoma Park is a 5.21-acre neighborhood park located at 3801 Cherokee Dr. in Madison, WI, open from 4:00am to 10:00pm daily. The park features three outdoor asphalt courts without lighting: one basketball court (half court), one pickleball court (dual-striped tennis/pickleball), and one tennis court (dual-striped). All courts are available on a first-come, first-served basis at no cost for individual recreational play. Organized leagues, tournaments, and lessons must be reserved in advance through the City of Madison Parks online reservation system. The park includes a playground (jointly managed with adjacent Thoreau Elementary School), drinking water, but no restrooms or other amenities on-site. A unique shared-use agreement with the school has been in place for over 30 years, allowing school use during school hours and public use during non-school hours.
