Pickleball Kingdom in Chandler, Arizona is a MUST for open play, clinics, lessons and more for those in the Phoenix or Scottsdale area. One of the top advantages is that you DO NOT need a membership to play - non-members can drop in for open play at just $15 for 3-hour sessions or for clinics and lessons at varying prices. The facility features indoor courts with outdoor surfaces and dedicated pickleball lines, which means you get the benefits of playing indoors (no wind, weather, or sunburn) while using outdoor balls on clay courts rather than gym flooring. Each court is individually fenced, which prevents balls from other courts rolling into your game, though some courts have limited spacing between the court and fence which can interfere with serving and gameplay. The facility welcomes all ages, from seniors to children and families. It's open from 6am daily until 9pm or 11pm, so you can play rain or shine without worrying about weather or lighting. Regular open play is scheduled with courts marked by skill level (3.0-3.5, etc.) and paddles lined up 4 at a time with a magnet system to indicate which is up next. Full-service locker rooms with showers and day lockers are available, and a mezzanine with viewing area and snack shop with limited menu and alcoholic beverages is coming soon. The facility offers free parking out front and is located about 16 miles or 20 minutes from Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport.
