There is open recreational play on the six (6) indoor courts in the gym of the air-conditioned Indian River County Intergenerational Recreation Center (iG Center) every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday morning from 9:00 AM to 12:00 noon throughout the year (with a few exceptions). Depending on the availability of the gym, a second session is added on selected Monday, Wednesday, and Friday afternoons from 12:00 noon until 3:00 PM. In addition, on selected Wednesday evenings, pickleball enthusiasts can enjoy playing in a third session from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Please pick up a weekly pickleball schedule from the Front Desk or call ahead (772-226-1732) to confirm whether or not the second or third session will be held on any given day. The current drop-in fee (December 2019) is $3.00 per session and all skill levels are welcome. A free "Intro to Pickleball" class, limited to eight (8) students, is usually held on Wednesdays from 12:00 noon to 1:00 PM and again from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM for those who work during the day. Be sure to call ahead to secure your spot. Beginners and intermediate players can pay for private (one instructor, one student), semi-private (one instructor, two students), or group lessons (one instructor, up to eight (8) students) on selected days of the week.
