What gets flagged automatically, and what to do about it.

A ladder is only worth something if people believe it. Results are scanned daily and anything odd is surfaced for a human to look at.

What gets surfaced

  • Patterns that do not look like normal play — the same pairing winning identically every week.
  • One person reporting everything, with nobody confirming.
  • A build-up of results nobody has confirmed, which usually means a process problem rather than dishonesty.

Reviewing a flag

  1. Open Matches & Integrity.
  2. Read what was flagged and why.
  3. Decide. Most flags are explainable — two friends who genuinely do play every Tuesday.
  4. Your decision is recorded, so the next person to look has your reasoning.

You can weight their results down so they carry less, or exclude them from a division. Talk to them first — it is more often a wide confidence band than bad faith.

Does a flag change anyone's rating?

Not on its own. Only your decision does.
