Running a club or facility

game day

The courtside console, and what to do when things move.

Works today

There is a separate screen for the day itself. It is built for one hand, standing up, in bright light — not for a desk.

Four tabs, one job each

  • Scores — review what came in, confirm or reject, close the game.
  • Schedule — live rounds and where each is being played.
  • Check-in — the door scanner.
  • Roster — substitute, add or withdraw mid-game.

The rhythm

  1. Open the control room from the game.
  2. Check people in as they arrive, so you know your real numbers before you build rounds.
  3. Run the rounds. Scores come in from whoever you have given the job to.
  4. Close it once everything is settled.

Common questions

The signal is bad at our court.

Paper for the round, enter it when you have bars. Better than losing a round to a spinning icon.

Someone registered and did not show.

Withdraw them from the Roster tab so rounds build off who is actually there.

I am running two games at once.

Each has its own control room. Give each one its own scorer rather than switching between them.
