Your handle, your level, and what other people can actually see.

Two minutes here saves a lot later. Your handle is how everyone finds you, and your starting level decides which games get suggested before you've played enough for us to know.

The four things worth doing

  1. Pick a handle. We suggest one, but change it while it's early — people will learn it.
  2. Add a photo. It's the difference between someone recognising you at the court and standing there guessing.
  3. Set a rough starting level. It only seeds the first few matches; after that your results take over.
  4. Check what's public under privacy settings, so there are no surprises.

What other people see

  • Your @handle. Not your real name — public pages never show it.
  • Your d1R and match record, if you leave them visible.
  • Your name is used inside groups you've joined, where people already know you, and nowhere public.

Common questions

Can I change my handle later?

Yes, but it's the address people share to find you, so it's worth settling early.

Can I hide my d1R?

You can control what's on your public profile in privacy settings. Inside a group you've joined, organizers can still see it — that's how they place you in the right division.

Then a profile already exists for you, and you can claim it — your history comes with it rather than starting from zero.
