Cancel a session and add a make-up
What happens when a week is rained out, and why the season doesn't get shorter.
Works today
Weather happens. The rule here is that cancelling never quietly shortens a season people paid for.
Cancelling a week
- Open the session from the Schedule tab.
- Cancel it. A make-up session is appended automatically.
- Choose extend (everything else stays put, the season runs a week longer) or shift forward (the remaining weeks all move). Extend is the default and the one that surprises fewest people.
- Captains are notified. Say why in the league chat as well — a date change with no reason reads as disorganisation.
What we won't move
- The season never gets shorter on its own. If you want fewer sessions, change the session count deliberately.
- Weeks already played, in progress or completed are never moved.
- Playoff weeks stay where they are.
Common questions
Half the fixtures played before the rain came.
Results already in stand. The make-up covers only what didn't happen.
I actually do want a shorter season.
Cancel with the shorten option rather than relying on it as a side effect. It's a deliberate choice, so it's a deliberate control.
Only one fixture is affected, not the week.
Reschedule that fixture from its edit sheet instead. Cancelling the session is for when nobody plays.
