Scores, confirmation and standings
How a result becomes official, and what it takes to appear in the table.
A score isn't just typed in and believed. It moves through a short chain, and you choose how much of that chain has to finish before the table moves.
The chain
- Reported — somebody entered it. That's all it means.
- Confirmed — the opposing captain agreed. If nobody objects, this happens on its own after about two days, so one quiet captain can't stall your season.
- Official — settled. This is what the final table is built from.
- Disputed — frozen, and you're notified. Nothing counts until you look at it.
Provisional mode counts a result the moment it's reported, marked with a chip so nobody mistakes it for settled — good for a social league where people want to see the table on the drive home. Confirmed-only waits for the opposing captain — better where the table decides who gets promoted.
Running it
- Pick provisional or confirmed-only in Settings. Provisional is the default.
- Let the captains do the work. You only get involved when they disagree.
- On a dispute, check with both sides and set the correct result. It goes straight to official.
- Close the session once everything is settled.
Common questions
A captain never confirms anything.
Results auto-confirm after roughly two days, so the season keeps moving. If it's chronic, the faster fix is a conversation than a setting.
Can I change standings mode mid-season?
Yes, but tell people first. Switching to confirmed-only will drop provisional results out of the visible table until they're confirmed, and that looks like a bug if nobody warned them.
A wrong result went official.
You can override or void it. Both are recorded, so the correction is visible rather than silent.
