Keeping score

Run scoring on game day

The console, the four tabs, and what to do when something's wrong.

Works today

If someone just handed you a phone and asked you to keep score, this is the whole job. It's built for one hand, standing up, in the sun.

Entering a score

  1. Open the game from the manage menu and tap into the scoring console.
  2. Find the match on the Scores tab. It lists what's live and what's waiting.
  3. Enter the score. The buttons are deliberately oversized so you can hit them without looking.
  4. Confirm, and it moves out of the queue. Standings update from there.

The four tabs

  • Scores — enter, review and confirm results.
  • Schedule — live rounds, and where each one is being played.
  • Check-in — scan people in at the door.
  • Roster — substitute, withdraw or add someone mid-game.

Common questions

I entered the wrong score.

An organizer can override or void it from the same screen. Don't try to fix it by entering a second result.

Someone's playing but isn't on the list.

Add them from the Roster tab. If they aren't registered at all, check them in first so they end up attached to the right game.

I have no signal at the court.

Write the scores down on paper and enter them when you're back in range. We'd rather you did that than lose a round to a spinning icon.
